MANCHESTER, England, Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ Forgotten Word is author Sam Jane Brown's debut book and it's garnering an increasing amount of attention thanks to its thought-provoking nature which is inspiring readers to explore the role of religion in their own lives and society as a whole.

"Forgotten Word has proven to be a very thought-provoking piece, very popular among book discussion groups, as it really causes you to consider how religion molds your own life and our world as a whole," Brown explained of her premiere novel, which has been likened to author Dan Brown's iconic The Da Vinci Code due to its theme and general style. Notably, Brown is in the midst of penning her sophomore novel.

Brown added, "One point that's really spurred discussion is the impact of religion on our society and way of life. Even those who aren't considered religious are impacted by religion, in our holidays, for instance. So banning religion would really spur dramatic social change, in addition to a process of self-exploration, as many define themselves in terms of their religious beliefs. Remove religion from the equation and you're left to conduct some deep examination into your identity and sense of self."

Inspired by a year-long Bible study, Brown's novel Forgotten Word takes readers on an intense journey into the world of a police investigator named Zena McGrath. Zena is dispatched to the Vatican to probe the latest in a series of unusual deaths involving clergy members. But when Zena joins forces with Cardinal Donatello, she's suddenly thrust into an intense world where evil and Satan worshipers play a very real and powerful role.

As Zena is returned to investigate yet another suspicious death, this time in New York City, she quickly realizes that she didn't leave the evil forces behind in the Vatican. The evil is following her. Zena embarks upon a quest to discover the truth. It's a journey that takes her across the globe to the Holy Land, but she's in a race against the clock because powerful evil forces are no longer hiding in the wings; they've taken center stage. And it's a show that's spurred a worldwide movement that seeks a new world order - one that does away with religion.
