Author Frank Padilla presents a key resource for those seriously interested in the work of worldwide evangelization with the publication of his latest book, "Fishers of Men: An urgent call to proclaim the good news" (published by WestBow Press).

"Evangelization is sorely needed during these times, when even the Christian churches are being devastated by sin and apostasy," Padilla says. "I hope this book will help Christians to apply age-old principles to the task of proclaiming the Gospel to the ends of the earth."

In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus says, "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest."

"Fishers of Men" asserts that today, the fields are ripe for harvest, and that God is sounding a call to Christians to participate in bringing in this harvest. The book is meant to serve as an urgent call for readers to proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus. Padilla outlines seven principles of evangelization and seven elements of Christians' needed response.

"The work of evangelization, especially the initial proclamation of the Gospel of salvation in Jesus," Padilla says, "is the most important work before the Church today."
