Eva C. Doyle sees that technical experts eventually take on the role as corporate leaders. However, she observes the lack of helpful tools to equip experts in performing their management job. Doyle wants to make the situation better through her first book, "The Reluctant Leader" (published by Archway Publishing), which contains what technical experts need to know and do to become better corporate leaders.

"Businesses often promote their subject matter experts into management positions, but it doesn't always go well. These experts need a new set of skills to be successful as managers, and this book focuses on that skill set. It includes practical exercises and references," the author tells.

Doyle's insights in this book are rooted from her personal experience as a manager in highly technical organizations and the knowledge she learned from her MBA degree. Doyle hopes that readers will realize and work on their leadership development needs and apply the practical tips provided by this book for daily management situations.

An excerpt from the book:
"Like it or not, if you have great passion and enthusiasm and ability, other people are going to notice and are going to want to follow you. They will admire you, recommend you, try to be around you. That passion is attractive. It invites followers. Thus, you are now a leader. Like it or not, embrace it or not - you're it."
