New York, NY

Highlights from the New York book launch for Eric Mondschein's critically acclaimed Life at 12 College Road - including a reading by the author in which he recounts his childhood quest for Olympic bobsled glory and gives honest and surprising answers to audience questions - have found their way to YouTube. The video was posted to Something or Other Publishing's YouTube channel right as a Kindle version of the book was released on Amazon.com.

These are just the latest ways to enjoy Mondschein's unique brand of storytelling, which has received universal praise. In addition to "Life at 12 College Road" garnering a nearly perfect 4.9-out-of-5 rating from 22 reviewers on Amazon.com, the book has received high-profile features on Boomercafe.com and in a New York newspaper.

The book also drew high praise from David Henderson, an Emmy Award-winning former CBS Network news correspondent and bureau chief. Of the book, Henderson writes: "Reading Life at 12 College Road is like leafing through an album of treasured faded photographs of an American family, revealing all its foibles and cherished moments. And, in each intimate memory, we are enveloped in an enduring love."

The New York launch wasn't Mondschein's only recent public event in support of his book. On August 18, the author took questions at a large book club meeting near Schroon Lake in upstate New York. On August 22, he was featured at a book reading and signing at The Bookstore Plus in Lake Placid, NY.

"Life at 12 College Road" differs significantly from most traditional memoirs in both content and form. Rather than relate the most newsworthy moments of his life in a linear, chronological narrative, Mondschein instead focuses on more intimate memories from his childhood life in rural New York in a series of 33 colorful vignettes.

"In reflecting on my past, I found that it was not the major, earth-shattering events that were truly significant for me," said Mondschein. "Rather, it was the small things, many of which I'd forgotten until sitting down to write the book."
