Elizabeth Emberton Releases THE CRACKED CHESSBOARD

Elizabeth Emberton exposes the wheeling and dealing behind the scenes at the England's National Health Service (NHS) in her new fictional drama, "The Cracked Chessboard."

The story is based on Emberton's own experiences as a hospital director in NHS.

"The truth isn't always what's seen out the outside, especially when dealing with politics," Emberton says. "I wrote the book to challenge readers' comprehension of one of the world's largest healthcare systems."

The book follows opportunistic entrepreneur Dennis Deane as he inadvertently cooperates in a money-laundering scheme within his hospital. Based on true 1970's events, "The Cracked Chessboard" follows Deane as he's forced to move money around to balance the books, aiding in the prime minister's campaign for re-election. Set against a dramatic background, Emberton expertly laces veins of humor and intrigue into the plot.

"I hope to shed light on many important issues in today's society, including corruption, money laundering and the temptation of politics," Emberton says.
