Author Edward Rogers suffered many tragedies in life, which ultimately led him on a quest to learn about psychic mediums and their different abilities. In "Mediums Not So Rare: Psychic Gifts of the Mediums" (published by Balboa Press), Rogers chronicles his path toward "the spiritual realms" and includes interviews with psychic mediums to help readers interested in mediumship.

"With the surge of awakening minds, especially the youth and children being born today, people are openly questioning the stifling rules of all authority based on fear of the unknown and moving toward the embracing of enlightenment and universal spirituality," Rogers explains. "'Mediums Not So Rare' may create more questions than answers so that it might create more spiritual thoughtfulness and expanding of minds."

An excerpt from "Mediums Not So Rare":
Shamans journey or travel to a drum beat, so you can have somebody else beating a drum like the rhythm of a heartbeat, but I have a CD and I play that. It just makes it easy for us, and it gives my body something to focus on and helps me pop out of it. That's the only way I can explain that. So I'm able to lie down and leave my body, and once I leave my body I have guides who meet me. When Nancy taught me to journey, and I'll say typically she calls it Celtic Shamanism, so my guide that redirects with me was a black knight from medieval times."

About the Author
Growing up in the '50s in the Midwest provided Edward Rogers with the idyllic life of security where everything was spelled out, women had their rules, men had theirs and everyone was united against communism. But Rogers was catapulted out of his layer of safe sanctuary into a world of unknown undertakings, first working as a teacher and then having a multitude of jobs, each pushing him farther into the extremes of poverty and enlightenment. Rogers now spends his time writing about mediums who he says lead people into the light with their messages from other dimensions including the spirit world.
