Author E. Lee North recalls one of most haunting reminder of the Katyn Forest massacre in his new historical novel, a blend of fiction and reality that will surely grip the readers' hearts and endear them to a remarkable hero.

Likened to a phoenix, Poland's history is a series of invasion and partition. Each time, the country has risen and emerged to reassert its independence. In "For This One Hour" (published by Xlibris), readers will follow fictional hero Jan Komaiko, the motherland's air ace during World War II who turned the tables on the Nazi air force, was captured by the Russians, was sent to the infamous Kozielsk prison camp, and survived one of the modern world's greatest tragedies, as he single-handedly masterminds the sabotage of the communist blueprint for Poland. Although written as fiction, this novel is as real as life and as valid as the essence of man, in its ennobling saga of the struggle against soul-crushing desolation and physical hardship, in its faithful tribute to the triumph of the human spirit.

An excerpt from the book:
I am apologizing for not responding to your superb review of my then new novel, FOR THIS ONE HOUR back in 1968; it grieves my heart and soul in reading over, this many years later, your words: "I finished reading your book on the train last night and expect never to forget it..." And you went on to explain why "Its account of one of history's foulest crimes - the murder by Russian Communists of the flower of the Polish Army in the Katyn Forest - is something I would like to see engraved on every American's memory. ... "

A gripping, fast-paced read, "For This One Hour" is for those who are interested in the happenings of WWII, taking them on a country's journey of survival amidst the Nazis and the communists.
