There is something powerful about stories. With stories, people are able to share experiences, teach lessons and even inspire others. As an octogenarian, E. Gene Gorrell has a lifetime of stories to tell. In "Learn to Love & Love to Learn" he shares the story of his life, imparting humor, poignant insights and universal lessons along the way.

"Learn to Love & Love to Learn" chronicles Gorrell's growth through successive phases of his life. Here, the author opens up his many struggles and mistakes but more importantly, he talks about how he triumphed over them and stood out as a leader in the end. A witty and candid narrator, Gorrell guides readers on a journey through his ultra-conservative childhood, his experiences as a Rotary exchange student in Germany, his years as an American soldier, his memorable experiences as a group leader for "The Experiment in International Living" and finally to where he is today - a place of contentment and thoughtful recollection. All these stories combined make for a book that is both entertaining and insightful.

Sometimes funny, sometimes poignant and always compelling, "Learn to Love & Love to Learn" is both an autobiography and how-to guide for people who want to find success and become exceptional leaders wherever they may be. This book was featured at the 2013 California Library Association Book Exhibit in Long Beach, Calif., last November 3-5, 2013.
