Downes wanted to write a book about his own experiences with post-traumatic stress disorder and about the deep anxiety, depression and anger that accompany that syndrome. About the Author
Robert B. Downes was born in New York City. He took his medical degree at University College, Dublin, Ireland. Initially trained as a pediatrician, he has been working with patients who are addicted to opioid drugs for the past 10 years. He is married with two children and four grandchildren. He lives and practices in Natick.
