She and her 15-year-old granddaughter Nadya who is a second-time illustrator shares both their skills to bring "Ruffles Rabbit," (published by Trafford Publishing) an appealing, fascinating and fanciful children's story about a rabbit whose determination and persistence makes her a winner.

Published in January of 2013, this children's story is about Ruffles Rabbit. When faced with obstacles, she rises to the challenge. She wonders how she can solve the problems. She thinks of all the possibilities, evaluates the situation and carries on to achieve her goal. Her commitment, determination, persistence and completion of her project, make her a winner. She, who had a problem and solved it, shares her message: "Never Give Up."

"Life lessons never go out of style. They are timeless," Pankiw points out. "Ruffle Rabbit's story promotes the development of reading and language skills."
