Author Douglas Gardham, while an engineer by profession, has been writing for much of his life. Though his previous works were never published, Gardham continued to write countless short stories, poetry, and novels. He proudly invites readers to experience his first published novel, "The Actor" (published by iUniverse), which chronicles the struggles of chasing a dream and overcoming tragedy.

"The Actor is the story of a young man's journey of self-discovery. Enveloped by the trauma of a personal tragedy, he goes after a dream - a dream that's not always as it seems," Gardham says.

"The Actor" follows Ethan, a young man with a dream of acting in Hollywood. Following the sudden and tragic loss of his close girlfriend, Ethan decides to pursue his dream. Driven by tragedy and a burning desire to fulfill his love for the big screen, Ethan heads to Hollywood.

"This is a story of love, hardship, persistence, and overwhelming joy. It's a story of chasing one's dreams no matter what it takes," Gardham says.

Throughout "The Actor," readers will watch as Ethan faces the many ups and downs of the Hollywood lifestyle, while battling his own tragedy and demons. As Gardham adds, "The Actor can portray anything he can imagine..."
