Donald F. Megnin Shares STORY OF TWO BOYS

Donald F. Megnin chronicles the intriguing story of two boys born more than 2,100 years apart, the uniqueness of their beginnings and the influence of each boy in their historical period in his book "Story of Two Boys: One from 2001 Years Ago and the Other from 1849" (published by Trafford Publishing). Originally released in July 2015, this non-fiction publication attempts to provide reality for the birth of Jesus and of Gottlieb, boys who were the products of rape of their mothers which has not been acknowledged by the writers of the Bible or by the family of the second boy.

The first part of the book took place in what has been called Nazareth, then part of the Samaria and Judea in the Middle East. Mary and her friend were about to visit one of their local friends when two Roman soldiers took them captive and repeatedly raped them before releasing them to continue their journey. The second boy was the result of the rape of his mother while she was sleeping off the effects of having been given more wine to drink than she had ever had by the man who had befriended her in Haefnerhaslach, Germany.

The main character of the first story became known as Jesus Christ and the second boy was Gottlieb Megnin, the son of his single mother, Roswina Megnin, daughter of the owner of a summer resort in southern Germany. Jesus' story would have been accepted as accurate were it not for the prejudices of the ages in which it occurred. The story of the second boy, Gottlieb, revealed an age of accepted hypocrisy in which he was born and had to live.

"The story is a reflection on birth of these two boys: the first of whom has been mythologized for centuries and the second was my grandfather who was likewise the product of the rape of his mother, as that of the first boy," Megnin explains. "The parts of the story which involve the way in which the women were raped and became the focus of the story for each boy is very important in determining the outcome of life for each of the boys. Had their mothers not been raped, the outcome would have become prosaic and identical to the rest of the ordinary humanity repeatedly presented in centuries of human growth and development."

About the Author
Donald F. Megnin, the son of German immigrants, was born in Syracuse, New York, and grew up on a dairy farm while attending Fayetteville Grammar and High School during the early 1930s and early 1940s. He received a scholarship from a Syracuse Industrialist to attend Syracuse University. He not only received a bachelor's degree but also went on to receive his master's and doctorate degrees from the Mawell School at Syracuse University. He also attended the Boston University School of Theology and served a Methodist Church in the Syracuse area for part of the time while he was a graduate student at Syracuse. He taught international politics at Slippery Rock University (one of the 14 state-owned universities of Pennsylvania) until his retirement in 1994. He has written 11 books since retiring and continues to take an interest in politics and religion.
