Don Trizinsky, a devoted writer and author, has completed his first book "A Place Beyond The Sea: The Voyage of Tial Bito": a gripping and potent story about Prince Harry the Navigator and his explorations and voyages along the West Coast of Africa.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Don Trizinksky's courageous tale explores the life of a visionary and explorer.

The Cape of Saint Vincent, Portugal, is located on the far southwest corner of the continent of Europe. At Sagres Point, it juts out into the Atlantic Ocean with a huge arm and appears to have the shape of a clenched fist at its very end. One can envision the arm and hand of some enormous giant who was probing and searching the Atlantic waters.

This is where the resolute Infante Dom Henry (Prince Henry the Navigator) had his modest fortress built and where he was destined to spend a part of his life. It was there and in the town of Sagres that he gathered around him some of the finest maritime experts of his day, including sea captains, shipbuilders, mapmakers, sail makers, and other learned craftsmen. From the roadstead at Sagres and the nearby Port of Lagos to the east, he sent exploratory voyagers south along the West Coast of Africa. Prince Henry might have watched the departure of his ships from his fortress lookout on Sagres Point, or he might have stood close to the huge compass rose that was sculpted in the bedrock of the Point and watched from there. His eyes must have lingered on them, until they faded out of sight on the southern horizon. Did not his gaze then turn westward to the more mysterious and unknown expanse of water there? Surely he would have done so. And what thoughts were in his keen mind at that time?

Great men have always been endowed with great visionary ideas, and Prince Henry was certainly no exception. There can be no doubt that he wanted to know what lay to the distant west and would have persisted in sending exploratory voyages there. He was an explorer at heart and had an abhorrence of things unknown. His prominent place in history is well established; his known accomplishments have been duly recorded. There had to be more though, and that is what our tale is all about.
