LONDONDERRY, N.H.

The military has always been part of author Deborah Curtin's family and it is no surprise that she imparts a story highlighting the courage and tenacity of a young Marine dedicated to serve the country. "Today is the Day" (published by Xlibris) is a tribute to a family who lost their son after serving his country and to all the men and women who bravely face danger to defend the USA.

"Today is the Day" tells the story of Pete Alexander, an average American teenage boy whose life is suddenly turned upside down after his best friend dies in a car crash. His recovery is aided by their neighbor who introduces him to the short wave radio. Soon, impending terrorist plots in the country are overheard and unknowns begin to target those closest to Pete prompting him to join the Marines to do his part to defend the United States of America.

Even as this tale possesses a strong military theme, its central theme spotlights a man who meets the devil on more than one occasion, rises to the challenge and sends this character back to hell where it belongs. Pete's story reflects a young man who embraces each day with perseverance and fortitude that continues to guide him right through to the end. It seeks to inspire readers to face life in the same manner.

Undoubtedly entertaining, this page turner will engulf readers through its steady build up of conflict and intrigue them with the central character's maturity at every turn. Inspirational in its very essence, "Today is the Day" is a must read for everyone who seeks to examine the workings of the mind of the valiant soldiers of this country.
