After attending numerous schools across the country with her son when he was diagnosed with autism, author Dawn Adams found herself disappointed with how ill-equipped most schools were to handle the needs of autistic children. Based on Adams' personal experience, seminars, classes and communication with hundreds of parents of autistic children, this workbook is meant to help parents with autistic or special needs children supplement their learning. It has a specific focus on helping improve the child's attention span.

"The majority of people forget that even with normal children, they all learn at a different pace. Just like we do, and always have," Adams says. "What is easy for one child is not so easy for another. Special needs or not. And just as important, praise them when they do catch on and you will be amazed at the results then and later on."
