About Dan Vanderburg: Dan Vanderburg is a sixth generation Texan. As a child he listened to the stories of his ancestors and how they built their way of life on the Texas frontier. Those accounts lit a spark in Dan to learn more about early Texas and share those exciting stories through his novels. Dan grew up in Dallas, attended college at East Texas State University and served a four year hitch in the Navy during the Viet Nam war. He now lives and writes in Arlington, Texas. Dan is an accomplished lecturer and trainer, speaking for social, fraternal and business organizations. His presentation "Gone to Texas" discusses what life was really like on the raw frontier of early Texas and includes book readings and signings. His training programs include "How to Write Your Memoir" and "How to Develop a Read and Critique Group."
