COLUMBUS, Ohio

In an effort to "send a message to wake Americans up," author Dale E. Lauffer has written his new novel, "The Year 2050 and Beyond" (published by AuthorHouse).

Lauffer states that he wants to "fight against political correctness with uncorrectness." The protagonist, Dan Crockette, experiences life in the nation's capital of the future as envisioned by the author. Lauffer believes this novel exposes the mistakes being made today that will have irreparable damage on the future of the United States.

"The Year 2050 and Beyond" presents a view of the future complete with flying cars and an Orwellian level of surveillance. Lauffer does not believe this is science fiction, though. Rather, he states this is the future the United States is heading toward unless changes are made.

An excerpt from "The Year 2050 and Beyond":

"Dan arrived home from work around six p. m. and parked his Japanese aircar in the apartment complex garage. He climbed out, set the security alarm on the car, and walked over to the elevator door. He stood In front of the identification screen, next to the elevator door. A voice said, 'ldenify yourself, please.'"
