Dalai Lama Blesses Spiritual Fiction Book 'Taking it With You'

'Taking it With You' is the debut fiction novel by author Daniel Prokop. It is a story about a woman who vows to leave her vast fortune to her reincarnation and a prophecy that promises a Free Tibet. Twelve years in development this book has been blessed by the Dalai Lama and a recent review describes it as an "Intoxicatingly delicious, inspirational read."

The main character of the book, Faith McCormack, reasons that if the Tibetan Buddhists can find the Dalai Lama's reincarnation 13 times then surely for a very large sum of money they will agree to find hers once. This delightful West tries to buy East story has spirit, soul, humor and a prophecy that promises a free Tibet.

In the 8 th Century the Tibetan saint Padmasambhava made a prophecy: "When the iron bird flies in the sky and horses run on wheels, the Tibetan people will be scattered across the earth, and the Buddha dharma will spread to the land of the red-faced man."

The meaning of Padmasambhava's words did not make sense for over 1000 years but sadly, as a result of the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1949 the prophecy became reality. Despite 64 years of non-violent struggle for self-determination, the situation in Tibet continues to deteriorate. Over 117 Tibetans have self-immolated as a way of protesting against the failed Chinese policies of suppression and cultural genocide being waged against the Tibetan way of life.

'Taking it With You' provides Tibet with a long overdue uplifting prediction: "When the Dakini marked by the tear of the dragon is found by her mirror, the chains of oppression will melt from the land of snows." Is the prophecy fulfilled? You will have to read the book to find out.

"Taking it With You" is a compelling story that has spirit, soul and humor. In a light hearted way it compares the fear of death in the west with the acceptance and understanding of death's role in life in the east. It contrasts saffron with Armani, compassion with selfishness and happiness with profound unhappiness.

There is activism in the book based on the theme of 'Reward the Dalai Lama Reward Peace.' As a world we need to know that peace is still a viable path for lasting change.
