D.W. Duke hopes his book will give readers a better understanding of Washington Duke and his family's lasting legacy, as he touches on the lives of numerous Duke family members, concluding with Washington Duke's granddaughter, who passed away in 1993.

He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law.
