RIO RANCHO, N.M. - Author Cynthia Gonzales has always been intrigued with writing. From short stories to novels, she always seems to have a storyline going on in her head. She admits to having a particular love for the romance genre. This love prompted her in writing "Cotton Candy" (published by Xlibris) as a way to show her true love for her husband and the way they met.

This book tells the story of Kylie Elliott, a single mother that will do anything to take care of her child. After a destructive relationship, she finds herself working as an exotic dancer at Teats & Tails Gentleman's Club. Embarrassed of what her family will say, she hides the truth from them, but Michael Hernandez, a bouncer at the club sees her for what she really is. Will this unexpected hero show her a love that will last forever?

"This is a non-traditional love story," Gonzales explains. "Although this book is for adults only because of its explicit contents, it also reflects the hardship single mothers have to face just to make sure their children are well-taken care of."

Through the publication of "Cotton Candy," Gonzales hopes readers will realize for themselves that love can happen anywhere even in the most unanticipated places.
