“Creating What's Next – Gracefully” by Valerie Ramsey is Released

At 74, Valerie Ramsey is just getting started.

The author, model and speaker has learned to reinvent herself time and time again. She spent 30 years as a stay-at-home wife and mother of six before engaging in a 15-year corporate career as public relations director with the famed Pebble Beach Resorts. At 63, she was scouted by a Hollywood producer to start modeling. She debuted as an author in her 70s with Gracefully - Looking and Being Your Best at Any Age.

And with her newest book Creating What's Next - Gracefully, written with Heather Hummel, Ramsey now travels the country to share what she's learned about finding your own "What's Next" and winning in the second half of life.

No matter the transition - the children are grown and proverbial nest now empty, a career that once fulfilled lost appeal, a relationship ended or the family's relocating - Ramsey shows how we can shape our new beginning.

Actress Ali MacGraw says, "Above all, this book radiates optimism and joy, and serves as one of those blueprints for those of us women who keep reinventing ourselves and seizing, with enthusiasm and grace, 'What's Next.'"

Ramsey takes readers behind the scenes with entertaining stories as she answers questions like:

  • How do I figure out "What's Next?"
  • What do I do if a great opportunity drops in my lap but I haven't got the confidence to go after it? Or the knowledge?
  • What do I do if just as I am launching my great "What's Next," a challenge threatens to end my dream?
  • What are the most important things I can do to move forward?

Believing that to create your best "What's Next," you must be your healthiest, strongest, most confident self, Ramsey emphasizes points from sleep authority Dr Michael Breus, PhD; integrative and holistic nutritionist Derek Johnson; sexuality expert Lou Paget, AASECT; and healthy aging specialist Bruce Berman, M.D.

Ramsey knows first hand reinvention isn't easy. A simultaneous diagnosis with cancer and heart disease challenged her, but she chose to deal with her adversities. And Ramsey inspires readers to answer with a resounding "Yes!" to new ideas, new adventures and new experiences.
