From business to personal relationships, internet technology has dramatically changed the world and the way things are done. In his literary debut, Christopher J. Thorpe examines the possibilities of finding love and friendship in the age of chat rooms and e-mail. "Twenty Three Plus Seven Equals Thirty" is a humorous, sometimes shocking look into the mysteriously enticing world of video chat and how it changed the life of one man.

In "Twenty Three Plus Seven Equals Thirty" readers will follow William, an inquisitive 40-something divorcé who stumbles upon an internet site that exposes him to the pleasures and perils of the video chat industry. With that unexpected discovery, William falls through the proverbial rabbit hole and finds himself in a strange wonderland peopled by curious characters.

He meets Suzanna, a psychology teacher and single mother from Romania; Vasilisa, a smart 23-year-old Russian who dreams of studying abroad; and Jennifer, a mysterious Italian woman whose interactions with clients are closely monitored by her boss. These three work as models in the video chat industry and will each, in their own way, leave an indelible impression upon William.

In the dizzying swirl of sexual innuendos, startling revelations, battle of the sexes and language barriers, William finds friendship and, possibly, something more. Told through William's conversations with each of three women, "Twenty Three Plus Seven Equals Thirty" is a rare window to a world that is not known to many people. This book heralds the arrival of a talented new voice and promises a reading experience that is sometimes funny, sometimes provocative and always engaging.

The reading experience in "Twenty Three Plus Seven Equals Thirty" is unique in that it is formatted in a way that it mimics interactions in a chat room. The book is also in colour.
