God has a plan for everyone; whether or not His plan is followed is up to each individual. This wisdom provides the backbone for contemporary Christian author, Carol Voelkel's new book, "Random Act of Love."

"Random Act of Love" is a Christian romance about childhood friends who rediscover each other while growing stronger in their faith. The novel highlights SS. Cyril & Methodius, one of the beautiful Painted Churches of Texas located in Shiner. Voelkel weaves scenes of the church into the novel in such a way that readers feel they are sitting in the pew, alongside her characters, as they struggle with their faith.

"I truly believe that nothing that happens to any of us is random," Voelkel said. "God directs our steps and helps to guide us through our lives. I sought out to paint a warm, welcoming picture of the Shiner, Texas community and to honor the beauty of the church."

Voelkel wrote and published the novel with one specific goal in mind: to raise money for the church. Father Kirby Hlavaty, Pastor at SS. Cyril & Methodius, has read and blessed the novel, and has participated in several fundraising events with Carol.
