"Carnerion" (published by Xlibris UK) is the last book of author Carn Tiernan's gripping trilogy following the development of an inadequate young man striving to reach successful maturity. This powerful, magnetic story reveals the way in which a man, who has been forged by his experiences in war and life, forces his way by strength of character through the hide-bound world of convention to do the right thing last.

Carn Tiernan, sick at heart after his latest love rejected him, returns to Carnerion, the long deserted house in a little Cornish valley where he was born. Intending to spend a recently made and not-altogether-honest fortune, he has planned to make up to his beloved birthplace for all the years she has stood empty and waiting for him. It later becomes apparent that some force obviously does not want him there. Although it takes him long to find out what it is, he copes with a toffee nosed neighbour whose officer cadet son needs to be cut down to size. He does this by forming a motor racing team. His sister, also a denigrated engineer, later becomes part of the team.

The racing team is successful, but the girl is bullied and drugged into accepting an unpleasant man as her suitor. Carn also discovers that the forces trying to get him out of Carnerion are also trying to destroy his country and he finds himself in a dilemma of sorting it all out. In the process, he manages to save the girl from the marriage - he drags her from the very alter to flee to France and Italy and marries her - and a grateful country sees its duty and raises him to the peerage.

Loaded with daredevil action, beguiling drama and adventurous thrills, "Carnerion" is a captivating novel that is bound to keep readers absorbed from first page until last.
