Ever since that day his mother lifted him up to touch his father's name embedded in that cold black granite wall in Washington, being an army officer like his father became an obsession with Jay. It was all he dreamed about.

"Shadow of the Rainbow" written by author C.V. Schweitzer and based loosely on historical facts tells the story of a man who was given a second chance to live and follow his dreams, a woman struggling to find hope and happiness after life's harrowing experiences, and a son longing for a father all through his life. Readers will be introduced to the character of Jeremiah Johnson, whose name is included on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, who everyone thought had died in a helicopter crash during the Vietnam War. Miraculously, he woke up from coma one day to the prayers of 'Sweet Jesus George', George Williams an orderly in the V.A. Hospital. George made Jeremiah realize that death had never been God's intention for him. The stronger Jeremiah got, the more he began to believe in himself and his ability to run the family business.

Mary Zzon met Jeremiah when she was still working for the embassy in Saigon. She was the victim of rape and was blackmailed into prostitution. Jeremiah broke off his relationship with Mary when he found out about her past. When Mary realized she was pregnant her dilemma grew over whether she should tell the baby's father. The day she decided to tell him was the day she was notified of his death. It is now 19 years later; her son Jay has just turned18 and is waiting for his appointment letter from West Point. Mary's husband of 4 years recently succumbed to a heart attack and now she finds herself with the daunting task of running an international corporation.

Fate suddenly stepped in when through a chance encounter, Mary saw a man who looks a lot like Jeremiah Johnson. Had it only been a coincidence that this man looked so much like Jay's father? What will Jay's reaction be if the person who Mary saw is indeed his father? Will there still be forgiveness and reconciliation in the end?

"The Shadow of the Rainbow" is a touching fictional read written to boost the human spirit when faced with the grave realities of life. It reflects a family's pain, struggles, survival and eventually, acceptance of life's destiny as it weaves its way from the jungles of Vietnam and South East Asia to a V. A. Hospital in Alabama and the corporate offices of San Francisco. A riveting story full of life's lessons and fulfilled dreams, this book is bound to become a bestseller.
