After observing what Burr B. Anderson, the author of "The Drummer" (published by AuthorHouse), believed were "shenanigans" in the business world, the premise to a new book began to cultivate in his mind.

Readers will join homicide detective Christie Cloud as she investigates the murders of three successful businessmen across the West coast. With each step taken, she is slowly led into the gritty underworld of the billion-dollar insurance business. She also manages to become mixed up with a Seattle strip club which introduces her to the seedy world of ecstasy distribution.

Along the way she is joined by one of their sons - a drummer in an up-and-coming band - who is trying to clear his name and his band mates.

An excerpt from "The Drummer":

"As I explained on the phone, until last week, I spent six months dancing naked at a joint called the Lotus Girl in Lake City. I know I am big, but in the exotic dancing business, a girl like me can be very popular. Your husband Hal knew me as Gigi, and he would ask for me when he came in."

"'The Drummer' will challenge readers as they are thrust into a world of crime scene forensics, bizarre sex and rock 'n' roll," explains Anderson.
