Author Buddy Rogers knows firsthand how painful the death of a spouse can be. After losing his wife, Margie - who had been his high school sweetheart - in 2012, Rogers sought meaningful ways to cope with the loss.

Rogers' new book, "The Pain from the Death of a Spouse: A Diary of Life, Love, Death, and Sorrow" (published by WestBow Press), reflects on the ultimate truth - one spouse will usually die before the other - and shares Rogers' story about what happened after his beloved wife's death.

Written in a diary format, "The Pain from the Death of a Spouse" chronicles the 18 months after Margie's death, detailing the pain and emptiness Rogers felt. He writes from his earthly side as well as his spiritual side, showing how God helped to alleviate his pain and show him how to be happy once more.

For anyone who has lost a spouse or loved one, "The Pain from the Death of a Spouse" provides both comfort and reassurance that God is always present and loving. Rogers hopes readers will be inspired to seek God's love.

"Once you turn the page of life, you cannot turn it back," Rogers says. "The book revisits life with the living and documents the death, pain and sorrow that will eventually come to a marriage."
