Following an earlier announcement Brill is now proud to open Brill Open Humanities - An International Journalfor submissions. Brill Open Humanities is meant to be a broad dedicated publication platform for papers from all branches in the humanities. The scope of the journal includes areas like archaeology, ancient Near East, art and architecture, biblical studies, classical studies, gender studies, history, Jewish studies, media and journalism, language and linguistics, literature studies, music, philology, philosophy, religious studies, Slavic studies, and theology.

The editors of Brill Open Humanities are aiming for the highest scholarly standards. Submitted papers are subject to double-blind peer review and accepted only if methodologically sound and relevant. Upon acceptance articles will be published within four to six weeks. Critical supplementary author materials like research data, audio, and video can be added at no extra costs. The standard license is CC-BY. For 2014 and 2015 the Article Publication Charge is set at a moderate EUR 495 / USD 655.
