In her new book "Answers to Questions You Always Wanted to Know about Christianity: But were afraid to Ask" (published by WestBow Press), author Betty O'Berry offers readers an accessible primer about the complexity of Christian beliefs.

"This book will give the reader an understanding of the persons of the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit," O'Berry says. "It gives an account of man, his fallen relationship with God before, and his new relationship after being 'born again.' It unmasks the devil and teaches Christians how to live a victorious life.

An excerpt from "Answers to Questions You Always Wanted to Know about Christianity":

"'Did you ever teach him about the devil?' The mother said, 'No, I never have.' He then replied, 'You mean you allowed your 16 year old son to go out in the enemy's territory without knowing he had an enemy lurking about seeking whom he may devour?' 'That would be the same thing as the United States Government sending its troops to a foreign country and not telling them they were at war with them, sending them off without any weapons and no knowledge of who the enemy is nor their tactics.'"

Betty O'Berry is a layperson. As a young adult Christian, she had many questions and seemingly few answers, and what answers she found were not taught in a systematic way in any of the many churches she attended. What she discovered in her study of the Bible, through myriad books, teachers and preachers, has compelled her to write this account.

O'Berry is a native of Bulloch County, Ga. She moved to Savannah, Ga., to continue her education and enter into a business career after graduating from high school. She and her late husband, Fred, were married 54 years. They have two daughters, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was a business and professional woman in Savannah for many years until retiring in 1995. It is her desire to share the answers she has accumulated over the years and to share her life experiences to aid readers on their journey.
