Summer Game Books is announcing the trade paperback release of "WHOLE LOT OF BAR-B-Q," Mike Shannon's collection of wild and imaginative short stories on March 25, 2015. "WHOLE LOT OF BAR-B-Q" features nine great baseball stories by the well-known author of 18 baseball books and editor of Spitball Magazine.

A lonely Cubs fan reads a woman's notes in the margins of a used book and thinks he has found his soul mate. Jackie Robinson bowls over an opposing pitcher and accidentally kills him. A man receives a lottery windfall and sets out to buy a major league team.

Kostya Kennedy, the New York Times best-selling author and Assistant Managing Editor of Sports Illustrated endorses Shannon's collection. "A charming, inventive collection, soaked with the nuances of the game and rendered with the passion of a baseball lifer."

"A WHOLE LOT OF BAR-B-Q" is currently available as a digital pre-release, with trade publication set for March 26, 2015. Mike Shannon is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Spitball: The Literary Baseball Magazine, which sponsors the CASEY Award for Best Baseball Book of the Year. He also edits Helmar Magazine and Minor Trips and writes a monthly column on baseball collectibles for Reds Report.
