Review: HALF BAKED HARVEST COOKBOOK by Tieghan Gerard Presents Wonderful and Tempting Recipes

"Half Baked Harvest Cookbook, Recipes from My Barn in the Mountains" written by the award-winning blogger, Tieghhan Gerard and published by Clarkson Potter is a cookbook you will want to have in your collection. You will be delighted by Tieghan's recipes and the special story of how she began to create tasty, creative dishes.

As one of seven children, Tiegan grew up in Cleveland, Ohio before moving to the mountains of Colorado as a teen. She started doing the cooking nightly when her dad took too long to prepare the family's meals. She acquired a comfort zone in the kitchen, discovering a creativity she didn't know existed.

Like the millions of her fans, we love Tiegan's recipes. They are a total of 125 new ones in "Half Baked Harvest," all wonderfully presented with easy to follow instructions, and beautiful full-page photographs.

We like the organization of the book that starts with Tiegan's personal story, "The Beginning" and a section, "How to Cook with This Book." Recipes are grouped together for Breakfast, Appetizers & Snacks, Pasta & Grains, Poultry & Pork, Seafood, Beef & Lamb, (Mostly) Meatless Meals, and Desserts. Tiegan has created her own special versions of comfort food that uses wholesome, natural ingredients in many of the recipes. There are excellent light bites and meal ideas for every taste and style.

Some of our favorites are her Fancy Toast, Eight Ways that works for breakfast or anytime. Tempting appetizers include the Harvest Cheese Board, Cheesy Kale, Artichoke, and Chorizo Dip, and Guacamole 101. Savory entrees include Mrs. Mooney's Penne, Moroccan Lemon Chicken Kebabs with Couscous Pilaf, and the Harissa Veggie Burgers. There are great seafood recipes that include Cheesy French Scallops and the Drunken Late-Summer Corn and Clam Chowder. Top them off with desserts like Chocolate Caramel Cake, Three-Milk Strawberry Shortcake or Mom's Special K Bars.

Whether you're a seasoned chef or a novice cook, "Half Baked Harvest" is a cookbook that you will enjoy using again and again. Tiegan Gerard's philosophy is "be bright, beautiful, and positively cozy." Her book will inspire you to do just that!
