In 1985, Keven Covert had an abortion a choice she struggled with for many years to follow.

More than two decades later, Covert decided she needed to knock down her wall of post-abortion denial, and all the wounds, issues and secrets she hid behind it.

Covert's new book, "Brick by Brick," is a hands-on daily devotional that highlights God's healing power to both women and men who have personal histories with abortions.

Written as though the Lord was speaking directly to them, Covert knows her book's 14- week journey will begin to heal the wounds of Post Abortion Syndrome for others like her.

"It hurts to dig up past wounds and be healed from them," Covert said. "Yet, this is needed to walk in wholeness and lead a healthy emotional lifestyle, as the Lord intended for us to do."

Covert also encourages Christian leaders to have compassion for men and women in their congregations who have decided to terminate a pregnancy, and to offer them guidance on a path to healing.

"Pastors need to have the boldness to step forward and talk about this sin, and remind those suffering that Jesus took this sin to the cross and they are forgiven," Covert said.
