Chronic Pulmonary Lung Disease (COPD) is rapidly becoming the third-leading cause of death in the world. What are the causes? Smoking, air pollution and occupational exposure. Who is affected? Everyone in the world.

This largely unrecognized, incurable and highly preventable disease has become the life work of Dr. Anthony Rebuck, a well-known former medical doctor specializing in the treatment and research of COPD.

To bring awareness and prevention to COPD, Dr. Rebuck has compiled data from his work with patients, clinical research and statistical data from leading professionals in the field to produce his new book, "Breathing Poison: Smoking, Pollution and the Haze."

Dr. Rebuck's latest work managing clinical research projects in the Asia/Pacific region, where air pollution, the prevalence of smoking, and the haze cased by illegal land clearing in Indonesia is the worst in the world, sparked his personal campaign to bring worldwide awareness to the devastating implications of COPD.

Written in plain terms with diagrams to accompany each carefully constructed explanation of every aspect of COPD, "Breathing Poison" has the potential to save millions of lives by providing a clear action plan including the best steps for research funding, healthcare strategy, public awareness and education initiatives.

"What could be more important than trying to prevent millions of people from contracting a preventable disease?" Dr. Rebuck said. "After a long career of treating lung disease and trying to persuade patients to stop smoking, I hope to help on a wider, perhaps global scale."
