BOOKS-A-MILLION to Host Community Book Drives Across Country, Through 7/5

Books-A-Million, Inc. (BAMM) announces today that all 258 of its stores across the country have begun hosting Community Book Drives until July 5. Each participating Books-A-Million location has selected a local K-12 grade school in their community that will receive the books collected in the drive.

Books-A-Million has hosted book drives in recent years that have been very successful, and hopes to continue the trend of serving local communities through these efforts. "Books-A-Million is invested in our communities and we are able to hold successful book drives through the generosity of our customers," said Terrance G. Finley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Books-A-Million, Inc. "Knowing these efforts are going to benefit over 250 schools is thrilling, and we are looking forward to another successful event," he stated.

Local schools have provided Books-A-Million with a wish list of books. Some of the popular wish list items include bestselling series such as Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Treehouse, James Dean's Pete the Cat, Barbara Park's Junie B. Jones, James Patterson's Middle School, Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid, John Grisham's Theodore Boone, Veronica Roth's Divergent, and Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games.

"We are so excited to be able to collect donations for Skipstone Academy," said Sharon Vacula, General Manager of the McDonough, Georgia Books-A-Million. "I cannot think of a better way to have a more positive impact on education in our community."

Chris Cline, General Manager of the Books-A-Million in Homewood, Alabama affirmed, "This book drive is a great way to connect our customers directly with the needs of Homewood City Schools."
