Love is sweeter when one waits for the right one to come along. Jessie and Jacob knew they are made for each other the moment they met. Author Jeannie Oakes Herod craftily spins an unforgettable story of a bounty hunter whose hands were tainted and a beautiful young woman who's a symbol of innocence. They are the hawk and the dove- an unlikely pair who are perfect for each other. The Hawk and the Dove is a compelling story that will definitely appeal to historical romance enthusiasts.

Jessie Campbell lost her parents in a tragic fire, and she only has her grandmother in her life. They get by together, working hard on the ranch they own. Their lives are pretty simple, doing mundane chores and making both ends meet. Then one day, a rider passes by their place. He has a dead man tied to his horse, and he is asking for some water for the animal before he continues the ride to the town. Jessie and her grandmother take a shine on him and show him kindness.

There's something about Jessie that draws Jacob to her. She is beautiful, but it is the inner beauty that appeals to him the most. He wants to take care of her, ease her pain and make her happy. He thinks of settling down and likes the thought of going home on a long day with someone waiting for him, someone he could love and will feel the same way. The two of them have a connection with each other, but the nature of his job holds him back from his intentions. Danger is looming in the peaceful little town as a series of events disrupts the residents. Jacob's service is needed to put everything back in order. Is there a chance for a bounty hunter like him to get the chance of lifetime and have the love of an innocent beauty like Jessie?

Rich with remarkable characters, with a touch of humor and complete ingredients for an endearing love story, The Hawk and the Dove is a tale that tells of true love and the magic it holds. This is a kind of story that will capture the hearts of romance lovers and make them believe in the purest of love.
