Showbiz 411's Roger Friedman reports that author E. L. James will most probably re-visit the characters from the best-selling novel FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, but not before penning a new novel featuring all-new characters.

"She really wants to try something with new people, but still a romance," said a source. "And of course there will be some bondage." The project is expected to hit book shelves before 2016.

But have no ear '50 Shades' fans. Friedman reveals that the author has not ruled out the idea of a fourth chapter or a prequel to the steamy saga featuring Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. "Everyone wants to hear more about Christian Grey's early years," says his source.

The film adaptation of the romantic drama 50 SHADES OF GREY will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson with a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, Patrick Marber and Mark Bomback. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by E. L. James, it is set to be released on February 13, 2015 by Michael De Luca Productions, Trigger Street Productions, Focus Features, and UniversalPictures.

Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson were initially cast in the leading roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, respectively, with Hunnam departing the project the following month and being replaced by Jamie Dornan.
