Author Dan Cuthbert and Artist Matt Miller Offer Free Graphic Novel Class to Teens

Dan Cuthbert the author of "The Shipyards of Sing" along with local Akron artist Matt Miller are offering their first class in a series titled: "Graphic Novels - Be Inspired to Create Your Own."

The class is geared for middle and high school students and is offered for free at the Ellet branch of the Akron Summit County Library. The first class is this Saturday, July 11th and begins at 1pm. (The following Saturday, July 18th at 1pm is the second class.)

Dan and Matt will be providing lessons and guidance to aspiring authors and graphic novelists in terms of:
-Finding inspiration
-Building storyboards
-Creating illustrations
-Word choice
-Character development
and most importantly
-Collaboration (understanding how a team comes together to create)

Participants do not need to bring anything - materials are provided.

Additionally, participants are encouraged to attend even if he or she are unsure of a topic. The goal of this project is to help young adults formulate ideas and bring them to fruition.
