'She's Addicted to the Nightlife' written by author Angel Harris tells the story of Helen Butler (aka Roshell), a woman that was born and raised in inner-city Atlanta, Georgia. From the time her parents were killed in an automobile accident, her life stopped. She is still alive, but her soul is dead. A victim of sexual abuse, she was thrown out of her aunt's house. She ended up in Capricia "Smiley" Mathis's home. Smiley introduced Helen into the world of clubbing in downtown Atlanta. Together with Smiley's other sisters, they go out almost every night to different clubs. They have only one goal in mind and that is to find a man and try to seduce and make him want to offer them money for sexual favors. It was not a problem for Helen to have sex with men without feeling anything. Her life was like a game-a game that she is good at playing and so she thought.
In her clubbing escapades, Helen meets and makes love with different men. Most of the time, she thought that it is love that she feels only to realize that it was not. And so, she goes back to going to the clubs six nights a week to find male company, hustling to get any money she could out of them, one way or another. She was doing it all: lying, stealing, cheating, bribing, begging, manipulating, etc. To get extra cash, she gets hooked up not only in the cocaine business, but also in using it as well. She got deeply obsessed with the nightlife and the lifestyle it offers until such a time when she was caught by the authorities. Will Helen still be able to correct the mistakes and transform her life? Will she be found guilty and end up in prison?
