Since Sam's family had moved during the summer, she was faced with two options: go to a different school for senior year or ride the subway every day. She chose the latter. But the mere mention of the subway brought back memories of that young boy who is constantly looking at her, giving her that same odd smile.

Windswept written by fourteen year old author Anastazja Ozarowski is an exhilarating romantic story that tells the story of Sam, a young girl who has been riding the subway for the past few weeks, ever since school started but found herself in the company of Reid, a young boy who always stays in the shadows to stay out of people's way because they just never noticed him. At first, he thought it was for the best since he wasn't exactly a normal young boy. But, deep down inside, it bothers him to no end.

Sam herself thinks that she is normal and so did Reid. The attraction she had for Reid is very evident. One thing she adored about him is because he was him. But, even when Reid did think Sam is like everybody else, there something about her that had him hooked. Yet in all honesty, this pretty girl from the subway should really be the last thing on his mind. The fact is that he's a Drifter, he's homeless, fights illegally for money, and has the Sliders out there wanting to murder him and are even going to take Chicago too. Will Reid and the Drifters be able to stop the Sliders? What other secrets are about to be unravel to Sam? Where will Sam and Reid's feelings for each other lead them?
