Amanda Sotomayor, a service member in the U.S. National Guard, has completed her new book "The Phoenix": a gripping and potent thriller, filled with raw emotion and inspiration.

When asked about her inspiration for the book, Sotomayor said, "I always loved reading and always loved writing my own stuff. One day, I woke up and sat at my computer, and started typing away about a day dream I always have, before I knew it what I was writing turned into a book."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Amanda Sotomayor's poignant tale explores the inner workings of humanity in times of great stress. While some crumble under pressure, others rise to the situation and move forward. Sotomayor's work illustrates the power of those who are strong willed and able to remain in control.

The Phoenix takes the reader down a long, winding dark path of terror and anguish as Dawnie makes her way through the darkest of times in the hope of finding light and salvation. An unyielding spirit, an iron will, and an amazing inner strength catapults her to make it through each trying ordeal, and soul-shattering unfortunate moment. Amanda Sotomayor shows the reader true optimism, courage, and sheer determination as each page jumps at the reader with trials set to break anyone.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase "The Phoenix" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
