All Pro Dad, the fatherhood program of Family First, congratulates former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy on the release of his new book, which he co-authored with his wife, Lauren. The book, "Uncommon Marriage: Learning About Lasting Love and Overcoming Life's Obstacles Together", will be released on February 4, 2014. Dungy, the only African American to win a Super Bowl as both a player and a coach, serves as a spokesperson for All Pro Dad. Lauren Dungy is a parenting and marriage expert who frequently contributes to Family First's motherhood program, iMOM.

Dungy became spokesman for All Pro Dad, the fatherhood program of Family First, in 1997. All Pro Dad seeks to help engage men in their most important job: being a father. All Pro Dad offers fathers a variety of parenting resources, including parenting articles, daily emails, videos and eBooks. Every year, All Pro Dad hosts an NFL Father and Kids Experience in different NFL markets. Several other current and former NFL coaches are also involved with All Pro Dad.

A cornerstone of All Pro Dad is All Pro Dad's Day, a school-based breakfast program. The program, which currently has 1145 chapters in 45 states, meets monthly and allows fathers and their children to engage in conversation and fellowship with each other and other fathers and children in their area. Dungy is featured on AllProDad.com in a short video encouraging new chapters to form in 2014. He also writes a blog, Dungy's Diaries, on AllProDad.com.

"Tony Dungy is an excellent example of a father and leader," Family First President Mark Merrill said. "We are blessed to have Tony as our All Pro Dad spokesman and we congratulate the Dungys on the release of their new book."

In an exclusive podcast interview with Mark Merrill, Dungy discusses his experience writing the book with Lauren and how their marriage is modeled on the successful marriages of their parents. The podcast is available on AllProDad.com.

Dungy began his playing career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was a member of their Super Bowl XIII championship team. After his playing career, he became an assistant coach with the Steelers in 1981. At age 25, he was the youngest assistant coach in NFL history. In 1996, he achieved his goal of being an NFL head coach when he was named head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He would go on to become head coach of the Indianapolis Colts in 2002. He led the Colts to victory in Super Bowl XLI. Dungy was the first coach to beat all 32 NFL teams, and ranks among the top seven coaches with at least 100 victories ever. Dungy, well respected and admired by his peers, is one of three people to win a Super Bowl first as a player, then as a coach. He was nominated for the NFL Hall of Fame in 2014.
