Pen Parentis has an intimate evening of good literature, conversation, and music planned for Tuesday, December 10th 2013, featuring two acclaimed novelists known for their keen insights into human relationships. Gabriel Roth and Daphne Uviller will read from their work and join in discussions about writing and an active family life. Prior to the readings, and periodically throughout the night, salon-goers will be serenaded by live jazz. Past readers and friends of Pen Parentis are likely to make an appearance. The reading takes place at the elegant Andaz Wall Street at 75 Wall Street, and the hotel graciously provides happy hour specials on beer on wine. The night kicks off at 7:00 pm, and admission is free.

Now in its tenth season, Pen Parentis has been welcoming avid readers as well as novice and professional writers to its Literary Salons, a series of free readings open to the public. Each author will read from new work, discuss their writing life and process in a Q&A, and then mingle over drinks. Books will be available for purchase from Bluestockings Books.

December 10th's Literary Salon features:

Gabriel Roth is the author of The Unknowns, which came out from Little, Brown in July. He grew up in London, England, and has worked as a journalist and a software developer. His daughter will be three in November.
