Angelina Ballerina is dancing into Mamaroneck! In anticipation of the off-Broadway hit, Angelina Ballerina The Musical, which comes to Mamaroneck on February 16 & 17, bestselling author of the beloved Angelina Ballerina series, Katharine Holabird, will be doing a reading and signing books on Saturday February 9.

Holabird will be at Anderson's Book Shop in Larchmont at 1pm at and at the Mamaroneck Library at 3 pm. Attendees of the book reading will have a chance to win tickets to the musical stage show at both locations, as well as enjoy a short performance by ballerinas from local dance studio, Studio B Dance Center in Eastchester, NY. Studio B is an official Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy studio, with beginner ballet classes based on the Angelina Ballerina books.

Katharine Holabird began writing children's books in 1982 and published Angelina Ballerina with English illustrator Helen Craig in 1983. The Angelina storybooks relate to childhood themes such as friendship, jealousy, loyalty and dedication. The 24 books have inspired an animated series as well as more than 30 Home Entertainment titles.

In Angelina Ballerina The Musical, Angelina And her friends, Alice, Gracie, AZ, Viki and even their teacher, Ms. Mimi, are all aflutter because a special guest is coming to visit Camembert Academy! Angelina And her friends will perform all types of dance, including hip-hop, modern dance, the Irish jig and of course, ballet and they are excited to show off their skills to their famous visitor. Angelina is the most excited of all, but will she get the starring moment she hopes for? Based on the CG-animated series, "Angelina Ballerina The Next Steps" on PBS KIDS, Angelina Ballerina The Musical is a family-friendly show that will have the entire audience dancing in the aisles.

This production of Angelina Ballerina The Musical is part of Vital Theatre's 2012-2013 touring season of children's theatre, which brings characters kids know and love across the country in award-winning, hit theatrical productions.
