Claire Fraise's debut novel, "Imperfect", set in a futuristic dystopian United States is a character rich, action packed adventure that introduces readers to Summer Greenwood and the powerful Making Perfect corporation.

Specializing in genetic research, Making Perfect officials regularly flood the city ruins known as The Slump rounding up street kids and transporting them to secret facilities from which they never return. Summer falls victim to the latest sweep and is forced into a series of grueling experiments. Along the way, she discovers that Making Perfect's ultimate goal is far darker than anything she imagined. With her sisters still in The Slump fending for themselves, she is desperate to escape and rejoin her family.

Fraise's motivation for the novel was to craft an exciting story in a stark and vivid world with multi-dimensional characters caught in unpredictable situations. "I love stories where relationships evolve and not always in the manner that is anticipated," Fraise noted.
