Language Success Press, a publisher of accent reduction, business English and everyday English materials announces that its bestselling titles - Speak English Like an American and Speak Business English Like an American - are now in use in ESL classrooms across the United States.

"The Speak English Like an American series is a fun and inspiring way to learn conversational English," says Tanya Peterson, Marketing Director of Language Success Press. "We're excited that ESL instructors have discovered our titles and are making the books part of their ESL curricula."

The books are being used in a variety of ESL classes, including courses on Business English and American Culture. Colleges that have adopted the Language Success Press titles include: Yale University, University of California, Berkeley, University of California, San Diego, University of Connecticut and University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, community colleges such as Wenatchee Valley College are using Language Success Press books as part of their ESL curriculum.

"We have been using Speak English Like an American for several terms now and really like it for our Advanced Idioms class," says Anne Politz of Drexel University. "The book is funny, which makes learning pleasant," says Vania Winters, an ESL teacher at Wenatchee Valley College.

Since its original release 10 years ago, Speak English Like an American has helped tens of thousands of English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Speakers master everyday English. The ESL book and accompanying audio CD teach over 300 American English idioms and expressions in context, along with definitions and usage examples.

While idioms can be tricky for non-native English speakers, author Amy Gillett explains that they are a key part of gaining fluency in English. "Idioms add color to the language. They make it come alive. They make English learners' speech sound more natural and less foreign."

Language Success Press publishes three additional books by Amy Gillett for learning American English idioms and expressions: More Speak English Like an American, Speak English Around Town, and Speak Better Business English and Make More Money. Each teaches a unique set of idioms and expressions and comes with an audio CD.

Speak English Like an American is also available in editions for native speakers of Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. Speak Business English is also available in editions for native speakers of Chinese and Russian.

Speak English Like an American is available in a book and audio CD format from the Language Success website. There's also a Speak English Like an American app for the iPad and iPhone through iTunes and a forthcoming Android version available on Google Play and Amazon. Speak English Like an American and Speak Business English Like an American are also available for the Kindle e-reader on Amazon.
