VIDEO: Intern Discusses Experiences at Metropolitan Museum of Art

Fall 2012 High School Intern Maha Ahmed discusses her experience at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. During this paid internship program for high school juniors and seniors, interns hear a range of museum staff discuss their careers, get behind-the-scenes tours of galleries, offices, studios, and laboratories, participate in hands-on sessions to develop knowledge, skills, and behaviors useful in a variety of occupations, and explore and discuss works of art in the museum's galleries with fellow interns. They also observe, assist, and receive mentoring from a staff member in one of the Museum's departments for a portion of their internship. Maha was placed in the Design Department under the supervision of Exhibition Design Manager Daniel Kershaw. Visit www.metmuseum.org/highschoolinternships for more information on the High School Internship Program.
