Russin Artist Forced to Flee to France After Painting Putin in Lingerie
According to the Atlantic, Russian artist Konstantin Altunin, who recently painted a portrait of President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in lingerie has fleed his county out ouf fear of punishment. He left St. Peteresburg because of a series of threatening phone calls, and has taken asylum in France.
He told the Atlanic: "Today, I appealed to the French prefecture in Paris because I have no other [option]. I would gladly get [local residence and work permits] so that I can be useful to France and to work and pay taxes. But now, I am forced to request political asylum because I fled very quickly without luggage or money."
