Nihal Kececi Chosen for a Solo Exhibition at Agora Art Studios Chesapeake

Agora Art Studios is pleased to announce that the winner of the Landscape Painting Contest held last month, Nihal Kececi, will display her artwork in a solo art exhibition from Feb 20, 2014 through March 6 2014, with an opening reception on Thursday Feb 20 from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm.

Born and raised in Turkey, Kececi started drawing and painting at a young age. Despite her demonstrated talent in art, she studied physics and nuclear engineering and worked in the software analysis field in the U.S. and Canada. In 2003, one of her mentors recommended that she devote herself exclusively to painting. Over the span of her career as a professional artist, she has experimented both with premeditated and spontaneous painting processes.

"It is a pleasure to have Nihal at our gallery," said Jorge Suarez, owner of Agora Art Studios. "Her landscape Relationships impressed us for her wonderful handling of complementary color harmony and her skills to merge abstraction with reality."

Over her prolific past six years, Kececi has amassed a body of over 400 paintings. She has exhibited nationally and internationally in over 45 shows, including six solo exhibits and 17 juried group shows in the U.S. and Canada.

Nihal Kececi lives and works in Bethesda, Maryland.
