Museum of the Moving Image will offer free admission to the public all day on Friday, November 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., announced Carl Goodman, the Museum's Executive Director. Goodman said, "During this difficult time, it is important that we do our part to provide local residents and beyond with something to do out of the house that is both fun and educational, and that both children and adults will enjoy. "

Exhibitions on view include Behind the Screen, the Museum's interactive core exhibition that explores how moving images are made, marketed, and shown, and American Falls, a three-projector video installation by Phil Solomon. This film is being presented as part of the Museum's Zemeckis retrospective, which also includes a screening of Cast Away (2000) on Sunday, November 4.

The Museum's weekend schedule of special programs will go on as planned. On Saturday, November 3, they include a presentation by Henson Company Archivist Karen Falk about her new book Imagination Illustrated: The Jim Henson Journal at 2:00 p.m.; and a special screening of Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) with child star, Quvenzhané Wallis, who gives an astonishing performance as the resourceful young girl Hushpuppy, and the director Benh Zeitlin in person at 4:30 p.m. Tickets to both events are free with Museum admission.
