Leon & Lulu to Welcome Michigan's Top Talent to Spring Artist's Market, 3/9-10
Artists from across the state will assemble at Leon & Lulu (96 W. 14 Mile, Clawson, MI) to showcase handcrafted wares from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 9, and from 3 to 8 p.m. March 10. Approximately 35 local artists have been selected to feature items, including jewelry, pottery, wall art, fiber art, photography, clothing, and much more. All products are handmade in the United States.
"The Artists' Market at Leon & Lulu is one of our most anticipated events, which is why we host it four times a year," says Mary Liz Curtin, co-owner of Leon & Lulu. "We're always discovering new, talented Michigan artists and this event provides them with a great platform to receive the recognition they might not be able to find on their own," she explains.
The Artists' Market benefits Cass Community Social Services (CCSS), a local non-profit organization dedicated to making a profound difference in the diverse populations it serves by providing basic needs, including affordable housing, promoting self reliance, and encouraging community involvement and improvement among those it serves. CCSS has a program that seeks to link job training and permanent employment with ways to reduce our footprint on the planet. It employs formerly homeless men to collect illegally dumped tires from vacant lots in Detroit. The tires are converted into stylish mud mats.
